Sara is 21

Happy New Year!! I hope you had a fun and safe celebration last night. We actually stayed awake and went out on the patio at midnight to watch an amazing display of fireworks shot from the tops of seven Las Vegas Strip hotels.

Okay, now for the story behind today's card. Our granddaughter is coming to Vegas to celebrate her 21st birthday. When she told me she wanted to celebrate this special occasion with her old grandma in Las Vegas I thought we needed to do something a little outrages, so,..with gramps as our designated driver...we're going to see Thunder From Downunder. This should be quite an adventure since she'll have to push me in my wheel chair to our front row seats. She's always called me her "crazy" grandma, but a fun crazy. Of our 4 granddaughters Sara is the most like me and I can't wait to spend 4 days with her.

The idea to roll up a $20 & $1 bill came from Pinterest. Welcome to Las Vegas sign & Thunder From Downunder photo are clip art I found online. Background paper was run through the Cuttlebug Happy Birthday ef. Candle "flames" were cut from glitter cs on the Silhouette.

Thanks for stopping by. Since I'll be spending the next 4 days with my sweet Sara I won't post again till next week. I hope 2014 brings you health and happiness.

Take Care!

  1. Wow, I sure with you were MY Grandma!!! I love Las Vegas. I was fortunate enough to visit there for a Governors Conference several years ago and stayed at the Mirage with my family. We loved the fireworks, the casinos and the layout of the land. So flat! Your card sure brought back memories for me--thanks for making my day! Happy Birthday to your granddaughter, and HAVE FUN at Thunder from Downunder!!! WooHoo!

  2. That fourth word was supposed to be WISH!

  3. I LOVE it! I tried to drag Tommy and his Dad to this, but they said NO WAY!!! hahaha ENJOY! And bring plenty of singles--just in case! I mean you only turn 21 once, it's not like 39 when it happens ALL the time! hahahaha Happy New Year!!!

  4. This is tooooo cute Gerry and a Very Happy Birthday to Sara. I have a feeling you girls will have a blast. When my daughter Amy turned 21, my Mother decided she wanted to take her to Vegas to start the "corruption" (her word). So my mother, daughter, two sisters and me were off and had a ball. Good grief as I think about it that's been over 20 years ago!

    1. The most fun for Sara was when grandma got pulled up on stage....that was LOTS of fun for grandma too. lol
